Our
interest in Louisiana's
Art was
Jonathan Hunt's six year association with Newcomb
Pottery.
We were not disappointed in the short writeup of the man on page 147. Here his daughter Blache is quoted describing his work at Newcomb College, the Haeger Pottery Exhibition at the Century of Progress in Chicago in 1934, and his subsequent travels consulting around the country. JB Hunt of course finally went to work for Broadmoor Pottery in late 1937, until it closed in early 1939. A real plus and well worth the price of the book in itself is the great photograph of Jonathan Hunt at the potter's wheel while at Broadmoor in Denver. Table of contents. |
