We were
curious about the obvious size difference between these
Broadmoor-Denver vases -- approximately 10% in all
dimensions. Both
irregular tops look like they were similarly hand finished on the wheel.
Different
clay
bodies can vary in shrinkage during firing cycles. However
both vases were made at
the same Denver location with a mostly white clay.
Perhaps
the runnier gunmetal glaze required a hotter
bisque and/or glaze firing?
