The
white clay body on this attractive Broadmoor-Denver spider web vase
shows through just enough to frame out and display a nice matte green
glaze. This green has only been found on Denver pots so far.
The
shape of the vase is similar to Broadmoor's much more common (and
relatively ugly) pillow vase. We have several pillow vases and
two of these spider web vases with Denver marks only.
The
bottom of our second vase has just about everything going for it: an
almost
complete "clay I am" sticker, a nearly untouched lacquer finish (often
missing) and the hard to find incised "Milgrim" we sometimes find
on Denver pieces. Who is "Milgrim"?
